THE NATURE OF THE WOMEN’S INTERNATIONAL E-PARLIAMENT
*Note: In this document, “wellbeing” means the complete integrity of body and mind and the enjoyment of every right promulgated in the Universal Declaration of Human Rights.
6. The Universal Declaration of Human Rights underlies every aspect of the Constitution of the Women’s International E-Parliament.
7. The Women’s International E-Parliament is a secular and democratic organisation.
8. Any person is allowed to become a Member of the Women’s International E-Parliament who is able to understand its principles and agrees to abide by them.
9. People cannot be disqualified from Membership solely on the grounds of their personal beliefs and opinions.
10. Personal beliefs and opinions are private matters and must not be allowed to interfere with the democratic and constitutional behaviour of Members.
THE ROLE OF THE WOMEN’S INTERNATIONAL E-PARLIAMENT
11. The Women’s International E-Parliament has been established for the following purposes:
(a) To provide forums for women and girls to discuss and debate issues of particular concern to their rights and wellbeing*;
(b) To provide polls to test the strength of Members’ opinions on what action if any is to be taken on any topic after debate has ended;
(c) To organise or support, in accordance with the wishes of Members, appropriate nonviolent action in the cause of the protection of women and girls from all manner of threat to their wellbeing;
(d) To give advice to Members on how to take full advantage of the E-Parliament.
12. In addition, the Women’s International E-Parliament will do everything possible to provide:
(a) Aid in the forms of advice and counselling, and links to supportive organisations and individuals concerned with the wellbeing of women and girls;
(b) A Priority Procedure to assist and support Members facing persecution as a result of their being identified by a hostile government or organisation or group or individual as Members of this Parliament;
(c) Protection of the E-Parliament against hostility including online threats.
